What is a Bethesda Small Group?
A Bethesda Small Group is a consistent gathering of eight to fifteen people who meet regularly to study the Bible, pray, get to know one another, and care for each other. The members of a Bethesda Small Group are committed to the group, its members, and God's call in their lives. Bethesda Small Groups form around common interests in order to fulfill a common purpose.
Why Small Groups?
God created us to live in community. Small Groups provide the opportunity to build and deepen relationships, grow in our faith, and share our lives with others. In fact, one of the first things Jesus did during his ministry was form a Small Group; we know them as his twelve disciples!
Formed around a Common Interest
Small Groups can be formed around any interest: study groups, service groups, groups of people with young children, groups of empty-nesters, groups of left-handed dog-lovers who are intrigued by Paul's letter to the Galatians.
Formed for a Common Purpose
Whatever the common interest, Small Groups are all formed to draw us closer to one another and closer to our gracious God in order to equip us to wholeheartedly serve in the world.
How Can I Learn More?
Bethesda's Small Group Planning Team is currently creating a process through which people can join and/or create Small Groups.
