A Bethesda youth shares his insights in the synod's newsletter.
Joel Ullestad-Heneke, a Bethesda 7th grader, attended the ELCA's annual Global Mission Event in Columbus, Ohio, from July 19-22, 2007. Along with his parents, Dale and Mary, Joel attended various activities and events centered on the theme "New Heaven and New Earth." Here is a description of the event: "At the Global Mission Event, congregations, families, youth, and seniors - along with international guests and missionaries discover a global community of God’s grace."
